Yes, you heard that right! You can get free clothes online, and we will go through how to get free clothes online in this article.

1) Earn Points to Purchase Free Clothes

There are programs out there where you are able to earn points which you can convert into cash or gift cards. You can then use those to buy the clothing that you need without breaking the bank.

Survey Junkie

One of the most popular survey sites, where you’ll get paid simply for answering some questions.

It’s a market research site, where they are paid by their clients to get specific feedback from the areas that they want to target. For example, they may have a product aimed at 25-year-old women in California who own a dog.

You earn points and can cash out when you get to 1000 points ($10). You can redeem these as either Paypal or e-Gift cards – perfect for getting those new clothes.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks is an online site where you can earn points in a multitude of ways.

There are known mainly as a survey site (where you can answer questions), but you can also earn points on there by watching videos, referring friends, finding Swagcodes and more.

You can convert the points you earn into gift cards at great places Amazon, Sephora, Walmart, Target and more.

If you don’t want to get a specific gift card then you have the option of cashing out via Paypal, which you can then use wherever you wish!

Ibotta

Ibotta is one of our favorite apps, because it’s so easy to use and requires little effort.

To use Ibotta, you need to go into the app, then select the products that you are planning on buying. Then you will need to go and buy those products and upload your receipt to the app.

Ibotta doesn’t use a points system, but cash. Once you reach the $20 threshold, you will be able to withdraw your cash – and use it for clothes!

Rakuten

Not heard of Rakuten before? They’ve recently changed their name from eBates, which you may be more familiar with.

Rakuten is a cashback site, where you will be giving a small percentage of the commission that they earn once you click through and purchase on another site.

Say you want to buy a new camera. You know which site you are going to get it from anyway, but by going through Rakuten you can earn some cash back.

You will get paid either via check, or Paypal every 3 months. The minimum balance needs to be $5 in order to cash out.

Honey Chrome Extension

We love this extension, because it’s saved us loads of money without us doing anything!

You can download the Honey Chrome Extension to your computer, and it will alert you if there are any coupons available on the site you’re browsing.

This is really handy for when you forget to check for coupons online and were going to buy it anyway. Happens to us all!

You can redeem the points that you earn for gift cards, such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, Sears and more.

2) Sell Or Exchange Your Clothes

A great way to make money for new clothes, is to sell the ones that you no longer need.

You could also exchange your clothes, which may be an even better option for you.

OfferUp

OfferUp is a really popular app that you can use to sell items on. Due to the large amount of users on there, it’s likely that you will get a lot of interest.

This could be a great place for you to try out selling or exchanging your clothes. Put an advert up for your clothes and wait and see! It’s a great way to get legit free clothes.

Facebook Marketplace

Facebook Marketplace is hands down, one of my favorite places to list stuff for sale.

There are so many people on Facebook who are just randomly scrolling through their phones. This means there is a good chance that someone will stumble across your post!

There is a Marketplace tab on Facebook, or if you are in the app then you’ll see a little symbol of a market stall. You can upload your photos in there along with the price, description and location.

Facebook Groups

As well as Facebook Marketplace, there are Facebook groups which are set up specifically for you to sell in.

We have a lot in our local area for buying, selling and swapping. This is perfect if you want to arrange for someone to come and collect the things that you’re selling.

Nextdoor

Nextdoor is the free private social network with your neighborhood community.

It’s essentially a way of connecting online with people in your local community. This can be a great opportunity for you to let people know that you wish to swap or sell clothes.

LetGo

Another great selling platform out there is LetGo. There are lots of different categories on there, and if you have a look on there you will see what people are putting up.

Craigslist

Craigslist has always been great for us when it comes to selling things. There are so many options on there!

It works pretty much the same as the other selling sites, in that you put up a post with a description, photos, and a price.

3) Use Free Clothes Referral Programs

There are online stores where you can get money to use when you refer friends to sign up.

Obviously, you’ll only want to recommend your friends join up to sites that will be good for them – don’t just do it for the referral credit!

ThredUp

The great thing about ThredUp is that as well as the generous referral credit ($10), you can also sell your clothing to them.

The referral credit is in credits, so you can use the credits to get items from ThredUp.

Rue La La

When you refer friends to Rue La La, you will also earn $10 in referral credit, which you can put towards clothes purchases with them.

Rue La La offers up to 70% off name brand clothing – for women, men, and kids. Kit out your whole family

4) Clothing Swaps

If you have some clothes which you are happy to swap for similar clothes from someone else, this could be perfect for you!

You could look on online sites, Facebook, host your own clothing swap with your friends, or maybe try out a site like Rehash.

Rehash

The thing that I love most about Rehash is that it allows you to list the clothes that you have and specify what you would like to swap them with.

There are no fees involved with selling on Rehash, but don’t forget that if you are planning on posting items, to factor in postage and packaging.

5) Ask Family and Friends

Possibly the best one of all – asking your family or friends! This is probably the easiest and least hassle, because it’s much more laid back and you know them.

Ask around – let everyone know that you are looking to do a clothing swap, and I bet you’ll be surprised at what’s offered!

This is a great way to save money on kids’ clothes, as they can be passed on from family to family as the kids quickly outgrow them.
